Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
CoveredOps is shop-management software for window-tinting businesses (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it is handled when you use app.coveredops.com or the CoveredOps mobile app.
2. What We Collect
Account information: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider). Shop data you enter: your business details, pricing, films, schedule, and records about your customers and their vehicles, quotes, jobs, documents, and payments-received notes. Vehicle information: details including the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), year, make, and model (see section 6). Technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security and reliability.
3. Demo Mode
The “Try the Demo Shop” mode runs entirely in your browser. Demo data is stored in your browser’s local storage, never sent to our servers, and is deleted when you reset the demo or clear your browser data.
4. How We Use Information
We use your information to operate the Service, keep it secure, support you, and improve how it works. We do not sell your information. We do not use your shop’s data for advertising, and we do not use it to compete with your business.
5. Your Customers’ Information
Records you keep about your own customers are processed on your behalf and under your instructions, solely to provide the Service to you. If someone wants to know what a shop has recorded about them, they should contact that shop directly — the shop controls those records.
6. Vehicle Information (VIN)
To power quotes, jobs, and warranty documents, the Service stores vehicle details you enter, which may include the VIN, year, make, model, and related notes. This is part of your shop data: it is processed on your behalf, under your control, and is subject to the same protections, sharing limits, and deletion rights as the rest of your shop data.
7. Where Data Lives
Cloud data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and served through Vercel (hosting), in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments are processed by Stripe. Each shop’s data is isolated by database-level access rules, and changes are recorded in an audit log.
8. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers named above (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe) as needed to run the Service, or when required by law. We never sell personal information.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
We use local storage and similar mechanisms for sign-in sessions, your theme preference, and demo-mode data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
10. Your Privacy Rights (including California — CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email hello@coveredops.com. (Records a shop keeps about its own customers are controlled by that shop — direct those requests to the shop.)
11. Retention and Deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. When you close your account — or on request — we will delete your shop’s data after a reasonable export window. Email us to make a deletion request.
12. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
